I think we'll see a more focused Huskie squad tonite. They came out at the 1/2 on Monday with their game faces on and pretty muched smoked the Eli's. With a game under their belt I think they'll blow this Nevada team away tonite. 85-60. Also leaning on Minny plus against a Utah team with no Frost and a propensity for low scoring win by 2 or 3 style games. GL

I don't think uconn played poorly against yale, it's just the style that yale plays that limits the amount of possesions you have to score. Hell I think UConn shot over 50% from 3. I look for unconn to really push it up the floor tonight and just wear Nevada out.I don't think Nevada will have the same kind of patience Yale had. GL

Thats a tough one for me to swallow.

I dont remember the last time Uconn won by that much.

Anyone know a good source for last years scores?

I understand that they are improved but I dont know if its Calhoun or what but early season motivation especially has been a problem for a couple of years now.

I saw the score at the half vs Yale and I had so many flashbacks from last year.

Dont get me wrong the team isnt terrible - and once villeneuvas status becomes a little more clear I think things will smooth out.

But I cant confidently say that this team can win by 8-10 baskets against anyone.

Nevada is the best team in a conference that often does well in non-conference games. To ask a team this early in the season to blow out a quality mid-major team is asking an awful lot. This is the rare chance for a team that gets little exposure to play a big name team, I expect them to play well and as long as they don't collapse the last 10 minutes they should get the cover.

Nevada may cover this game, but it is a huge step up in class for them! Other then a couple of WAC teams they have not played anyone in the top 20 in the last 5 years. Not so sure they are the best team in the wac although they may have the best player. I just think in a uptempo game this could be real trouble for Nevada, they just don't have the talent to stay with a very deep Uconn team. The backdoor is always a concern. IF uconn is the best team in the country, playing at home(not the hartford civic center) they should easily handle this team.Could be wrong as I certainly was last night but worth a bet to me.GL

This is a huge step up in class. Snyder can play and is a great shooter. Uconn should come out and push the tempo. Uconn is much deeper and can rotate Armstrong, Brown and Anderson on him. Uconn should dominate the boards. Nevada whould get there 55-60 pts. Uconn easily can drop 80 on them. There is no way Nevada should be in this game. Uconn also should have had a nice earful from Calhoun the last couple days. In fornt of the home crowd, who may be a bit tired after a women were sold out last night, they should get a nice easy win, but a backdoor cover is possible. Game seems too close and could see Another 15 pt lead in the second and half and cruis to a 12 pt win. When you look at the Yale game, Uconn was not sharp holding on to the ball and frustarted with the slow down O. Also Yale is as good or better than Nevada and Nevada was not helped by Yale running it's mouth after the game saying the wouldn't mind seeing UCONN in march. I am not touching this, but if I did would be on UCONN. For the record I am not a UCONN die hard fan.

I think you guys have your thinking backward worrying about a backdoor. The depth of UConn is what makes a cover possible, but that would probably be done late. Backdoors at home usually happen because the home favorite is not very deep and has a big game on tap so the coach uses the bench. A deep team early in the season should make the backdoor the least of your worries don't you think?

wild bill. Calhoun never likes to rub it in. He does not like to run it up, except he will destroy 3 teams this year, Miami, Vtech and BC. He could hold of on skinner a bit but he wants blood. Uconn usually will stop pressing late in games etc. It's not calhoun's style
